Information collected and use

When you use our contact form, we collect your name and email address and the content of your message, to handle and respond to your inquiry. You provide this information directly through the form.

Required fields are identified in the form. If you do not wish to provide this information, you may choose not to use the form; however, we will be unable to reply through this channel.

We do not use contact-form information to subscribe you to a newsletter, send advertising or create an advertising profile.

Access is limited to Alexandre Ribeiro, as needed to handle inquiries and administer the website. The privacy contact oversees protection, retention and destruction of information, as well as complaint and incident handling.

Providers and processing outside Québec

Information submitted through the form is processed by the following providers, solely to operate the website and deliver your inquiry:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — website hosting, form processing and delivery of your inquiry by email;
• Google LLC (Gmail) — the mailbox where inquiries are received and stored.

These providers have access to your name, email address and any other information you enter in the form.

Processing outside Québec: yes. Cloudflare and Google operate servers outside Québec, including in the United States; your information may be hosted or processed there, solely for the purposes described above.

Disclosures are limited to what is necessary and are based on your consent or legal authorization. Relevant providers are subject to the required confidentiality and security commitments. Before entrusting information outside Québec, we conduct the required privacy impact assessment and establish a written agreement providing adequate protection.

Retention and security

We keep this information for 12 months after the last exchange related to your inquiry, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention. We then securely destroy the information, including in relevant systems according to Gmail’s automatic trash deletion period (30 days).

We apply safeguards appropriate to the information held: the website and form are encrypted (HTTPS), and inquiries are delivered by email without being stored in a website database. We restrict access and take necessary steps to prevent and manage confidentiality incidents. We maintain an incident register and notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and affected individuals when an incident presents a risk of serious injury, as required by law.

Cookies and technical data

Technical logs. When you visit the website, Cloudflare processes technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) to serve pages, keep the website secure and prevent abuse. This data is not used to identify you.

Cookieless visit statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure traffic in aggregate (pages viewed, referrer, device type). This tool uses no cookies and does not track you across websites.

Google Analytics — off by default. Only if you accept it, we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to better understand how the website is used. This tool sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that may be kept for up to 2 years, and the data may be processed outside Québec, including in the United States.

No function that identifies, locates or profiles you is enabled by default. Google Analytics stays off until you accept it in the consent banner. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page.

Your rights and withdrawing consent

You may request access to your information, correction of your information and withdrawal of consent to its use or disclosure. Where the legal conditions are met, you may request computerized information collected from you in a structured, commonly used format.

Send your written request to the privacy contact above. We may take proportionate steps to verify your identity. We respond to access or correction requests within 30 days of receipt.

You may withdraw consent by emailing contact@ribeiroalex.com. Withdrawal may prevent us from continuing to handle your inquiry; we will explain the consequences. It does not remove legal retention obligations.

Complaints and changes

To make a complaint, write to the privacy contact describing the situation and the outcome you seek. The contact will review the facts, provide a response and coordinate any necessary corrective action. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

We publish this policy at https://ribeiroalex.com/en/privacy/. Changes will be accompanied by a notice delivered through a dated notice at the top of this page and, when the change affects them, an email to people with an open inquiry. We will request new consent before any new use requiring it.
